Employment Law Firm Swartz Swidler, LLC files federal discrimination lawsuit alleging Disability Discrimination

On May 3, 2013, a former employee of Scientific Games, Corp. filed a federal lawsuit in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, asserting that he was wrongfully discharged in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA).   New Jersey (NJ) and Pennsylvania wrongful termination attorneys, Swartz Swidler, LLC represents the employee in his fight.

In the lawsuit, the employee asserts that he worked for the company for more than 20 years, most recently as an Assistant Operations Manager.  The employee claims that his employer accused him of being drunk because he had taken medication which his doctor prescribed him for his disability.  Nevertheless, he asserts he was wrongfully terminated for taking prescription medication necessitated by his medical condition, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (“PHRA”).

In the disability discrimination lawsuit, the employee is seeking lost wages, future lost wages, damages for emotional distress, punitive damages, and recovery of his attorney’s fees and costs .
